Adventures in Fabric Coloring

I’m excited to be sharing my love of fabric coloring with you! Even though I mostly paint on fabric, there are many ways to add color to your projects and I will be touching on several methods and mediums, some of which you may have on hand in your own home. I have been quilting and painting since the late 80s. I couldn’t decide which I liked best, painting or quilting, so decided to combine the two and have been enjoying both ever since.

Pictured below are a couple of quilts which I have painted and have added color. The Sunbonnet Sue blocks are painted with acrylics and outlined with black quilting thread. In “Lonely Lookout”, the tree is hand painted and color has been added to the appliqued rocks.
