An ancient Japanese art, Shibori subtlety goes far beyond the usual tie-dye techniques. Try your hand at the elegant patterns found in imperial kimonos. Basic shaped resist techniques-- binding, pleating, knotting, stitching, clamping and pole-wrapping--are easy to learn and endlessly variable. Adaptable to any fabric-dye combination, the class uses Procion MX dyes on cotton and silk.
