"We're Enchanted With Quilting!"
Quiltworx to Certification and Beyond
Lecture with Barbara Gary
Barbara Gary grew up on the western slope of Colorado and began sewing at a young age. She began the quilting journey when her mother-in-law taught her the process of assembling a quilt top, layering it on a frame and after chores were completed the frame was lowered from the ceiling and busy hands stitched rows of quilting.
In the early 90s, she attended an extension demonstration where the lady showed how to quilt on a home sewing machine. The Extension Agent opened a whole new world for her. The fact that one could make a top and -- in a short amount of time -- quilt it, was amazing. She fell in love with the art of quilting and began attending quilt classes. The classes opened a magic world. She joined several guilds and soaked up the knowledge that these magnificent quilters were able to share with her. She served on the NMQA board for many years and was President in 2003.
We'll have Show & Tell at the meeting! If you're attending in person, bring your item with you and if you're attending through zoom, send your photos to Kris Lange, klange@email.com at least 48 hours before the meeting
We'll also have Balloon Fiesta Training after the meeting! If you're a captain or co-captain at the NMQA tent during Balloon Fiesta, you should attend.
